Its impossible to describe just how awesome this place is…if there was a 110% option, I would give it. This place was so relaxing, friendly, clean, fun and…well, perfect! Beds and rooms are great, kitchen is the best I have seen at a hostel, the place is rediculously clean, but its the staff that really make this place…dont stay anywhere else!

Great hostel with really excellent staff. The common area is far enough from the bedrooms that there is no noise heard if you want to go to bed early whilst the hostel has a great party atmosphere and some superb tours.

The Naughty Squirrel is amazing. We had such a great time and met some lovely people. Jarrod and Ieva who own the hostel are fantastic- they are so welcoming and helpful and work very hard to make sure you have a perfect stay. Definately THE hostel to be in Riga.

This is by far the best hostel I’ve stayed at. Not only is it clean (including the toilets & showers), tidy & funky, but the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s the little things this hostel does & offer that makes all the difference…..

Staff seem very eager to make sure you have a good time – Extremely thoughtful & helpful. Provided very reliable info on busses, trains, restaurants, bars and so on. Great location, three good computers with high-speed internet connections, fun pub-crawl, toilets & showers are cleaned several times a day, common room is nice, beds were pre-made and comfy. This place definitely deserves all the credit it gets – Absolutely loved it down to the smallest detail!

This hostel is totally great!! Right in the city center, great owners, lots of fun people hanging out here!! You can watch a movie, catch a pub crowl, or do other fun stuff they offer. Best hostel i’ve been to! It is so clean and still so nice and alive!

Easily one of the best hostels I have stayed at. I am hard pressed to fault it. Great location. Friendly, helpful staff. Fun atmosphere. But very secure, and the dorms are nice and quiet. Stay at this hostel. You won’t regret it!

The best hostel I’ve stayed at so far!!! Right in the centre of the city, only half an hour by bus from the airport and close to all the main tourist stuff. Amazingly helpfull, funny and friendly staff!!

I wanted to experience some other hostels before I rated this. I have now been to about 15 in total, and I can say quite confidently that it is the best I have stayed at in any country in Europe. It has amazing staff, the coolest layout and rooms, a perfect location in Old Town Riga right close to the bus station, a full kitchen, a chill out room with a flat screen tv, etc. i have never felt more welcome in a hostel.

Excellent hostel, my main concerns in hostels are the atmosphere and meeting awesome people. Basically I just wanna have a lot of fun. This hostel has all the facilities to make that happen. Not too big, therefore cosy. A lot of times we got free shooters, the staff knows the real good local bar/dancings, they organize loads of cool stuff like a very good pub crawl, go carts and shooting an AK 47 in a russian bunker. And ow yeah, Jarred the owner is a hero

Brilliant hostel, one of my favourite ones I’ve stayed in. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the location is great and it’s very clean. A great welcoming atmosphere. I’d definitely go back.

This is definitely the best hostel I’ve been so far and I warmly suggest everyone to make a visit. Staff is more than friendly and it very easy to meet people. and you should definitely try the “Apple Pie” prepared by the Staff.

The Naughty Squirrel has to be one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. Good location near the station, large bright rooms, very clean and with a good social common room with free internet and wifi.

One of the most fun hostels I’ve ever been in. Met some cool Brazilians and Mexicans here and hanged out in the common room with some other people while the hostel played “Predator” on a large-screen TV. Great character, great location, definately recommend it!

This hostel really has it all.. Great, friendly staff who go out of their way to make sure youre having a great time and getting taken care of. The place is spotless, very subtly cleaning all day but not to interrupt you if youre in the hostel. Lockers in every room to fit all your junk in. highly recommended if youre in riga, close to everything, dont miss this place.

A fantastic hostel. The staff were always extremely helpful. All areas were immaculate and constantly being cleaned. The rooms are a decent size with a secure place to put your bag. It was always fun and friendly in the common room and kitchen. Cheap beverages. Ensure you play the heads/fish game to score yourself one of the yummiest shots we have ever had! The location is great.

Great hostel. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Awesome common area that’s usually playing movies or English TV. Lots of evening activities planned. Lockers, great beds and phenomenal location in the Old Town but also very close to the bus station best of both worlds. Highly recommend it!

Good vibe – perfect balance of party and calm. Not too crazy but not at all bland. Good beds, good facilities. Could use an extra computer for the number of people in the hostel. Cheap transport to the airport, which was quite necessary at 5am – 8 lats for a taxi-like service.

Quite honestly the best hostel I have stayed at by a mile. Staff are very friendly and are amazingly helpful. The cleanliness of the place is also great, with attention to keeping things spotless throughout the day. A great hostel to socialise without being roudy, they simply understand what it takes to run a hostel brilliantly. I honestly couldn’t think of anything I would change. Well done, I am coming back again in a month because i loved it so much! BOOK THIS NOW!

Have never had so much fun in a hostel, and that was due entirely to the friendly attitude of the staff – and their friendly vodka shot games – and the chill layout common room/drinking room. Plus it’s clean, location is great, very safe, etc etc. Great place – thinking of going back to Riga just for the hostel. Thanks guys.

this is probably one of the best hostels i ever stayed in!!! the staff is always taking care that everyobody has a good time. they organize daytrips and fun events every single day. and they sell beer on tap for fair prices. location is just perfect as well. the rooms are very clean and seem renovated not long ago. there are also plenty shower facilities so no queues in the morning for taking showers. there might be many hostels in riga, but defenitely not a better one!!!!

Fantastic Hostel! best we have stayed at yet. Really, really great, friendly, knowledgable and helpful staff. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds in cosy rooms. Great common area with heaps of movies, lots of couches, beer on tap, random quirky happy hours, yummy apple pie shots.. the list goes on! I have been on the road for about 3 months staying in hostels all over Europe-and this was by far one of my favorite, maybe even the best. Location is perfect, everything is very clean, the staff are very helpful, there is a great common room where you can actually comfortably socialize with the owners as well as the other guests, I would highly recommend it to anyone and will definately stay there again.

In the top group of any hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Super friendly and helpful staff. Nice, comfortable beds. I was surprised to find how clean it was. Great place to meet other travellers. Not noisy. Extremely well located (literally metres away from the bus to the airport, trains and intercity buses). Great for strolling around old town Riga.

Brilliant hostel! Right near the centre of Riga, but still v near the bus station. There’s such a good atmosphere – everyone wants to hang out and meet people (then get drunk). And the staff are just so lovely. I got ill then managed to lose my card and they took care of me, which I really appreciated. Oh – and the showers are GOOD. STAY IN THIS HOSTEL, you won’t regret it!

We had a great time at Naughty Squirrel. The staff absolutely made it, they were friendly and very willing to help and have a chat. The hostel is great for those who need a bit of privacy (we had a great double room) and those who want to go out and party (the hostel organises events). It is also the safest hostel I have stayed in, without a doubt.

I’ve stayed in many hostels… too many… especially when I was traveling around for 22 months.. but I’m struggling to remember one that was as good as this one. This hostel did everything you need for a hostel and did them well. The staff were great and went out of their way to make sure you had a good time… so top marks all around.

my two week stay here has been above and beyond my expectations. The staff is incredibly helpful. Locations is great, transportation and some of the best sites of riga are just a short walk away. The rooms are clean and comfortable with lockers provided just bring a lock. the common room is well equipped with DVDs and its a good spot to have a beer at happy hour. When im back in riga this will be my first stop.

This is not a hostel in Riga bit THE HOSTEL. I am an experienced backpacker and can tell you that such a clean hostel is diffucult to find anywhere. Staff are lovely and they also make sure to get the clean linen and towels ready for you! So many activities during the day!!strongly recommended

Awesome hostel. One of the cleanest I’ve been to. Enough bathrooms with superb showers and nice flowery smells. Dormitories are nice and spacious. Kitchen has everything you need with a bar attached to it where you can drink the biggest beers ever. The receptionist is a very nice chilled out Aussie who is extremely helpfull. Definite recommendation here!

Great hostel!! I arrived really late at night and they were lovely and helpful! They also let me hang around until a late night bus. Very comfy beds and great security with individual lockers and secure entry to the hostel. would definately recommend

The staff is so friendly in this hostel and the common room is very lively! There is a bar so even if you do not want to go out theres always something to do at the hostel, Sundays are movie nights! The hostel also has extensive activities which you can sign up to do, ranging from usual pub crawls to shooting and many more, you surely wont be bored at this hostel! The showers are always very clean and with key card access, it is very safe… Riga is a small place so I would say this hostel is convenient, its close to st peters church which they do free walking tours from daily… and a close walk to one of the two squares.

It’s very hard to fault this hostel at all. The staff are exceptionaly friendly, fun and helpful. The rooms, although maybe a little cramped, are clean, bright and comfortable and far enough away from the lively common area to still get a good nights sleep. Even the directions and youtube video of how to find the hostel make it a pleasure to stay in. I had a great night and hope to go back!

The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. The staff was exceptionally helpful and the common areas were a great place to gather and check the web. The location is perfect as well… in the city walls but also a stones throw from the international buses.

This is definitely the best hostel I have ever stayed in across nearly every continent. Rooms are clean and spacious with lively decoration and excellent security cages under each bed for your bag. The common room was just what it should always be in a hostel – comfortable, with lots of movies and three PCs with free internet. And a great location, close to the major squares and 2 minutes from the bus stop to/from the airport. This place is clearly owned by someone who understands what travellers look for in a hostel. Recommended!!

The staff is so willing to help, and do everything to make your stay more comfortable, I saw that this hostel was rated as one of the best in the world, and after my stay in several hostels I agree with the good rating of this hostel. I enjoyed it so much I actually stayed one night longer.

This is the best hostel we have stayed in!!! Location is fantastic, staff are extremely friendly and personable and made us feel right at home. They have happy hours everynight and the live music Thursday and movie night Sunday were really enjoyable. The bathrooms/toilets were cleaned at least twice a day! I recommend this hostel to everyone!!!

Naughty Squirrel is the best hostel we have stayed at to date on our travels. All hostels we visit will now be compared to the Naughty Squirrel. Great Staff and visitors! You will make friends here without even trying. Tours offered are great, you go with other people in the hostel… and even the staff goes with you! Shooting the AK47’s is a “blast”.
Rooms are clean and nice. Beds are comfy. Showers and bathrooms are sparkling. Awesome atmosphere with a very inviting common room. Every evening is pretty much a party there. Especially when the free shots come out! And it’s happy hour most of the time. Location couldn’t get better. Loved the large free fluffy towel upon arrival. Nice change to the tiny dish cloths most other hostels usually provide. Wifi did not work in our room and from the looks it only works in the common room. I travel a lot & rate hostels critically. From Russia, to Finland, Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania, this hostel is the best value, most considerate, most helpful & friendly.

It was very comfortable, offered security, & lots of bathrooms/showers close by. The staff were very helpful, the lounge great as you could select a movie to watch with others, the kitchen with everything you need. The bathrooms, & rooms are cleaned every day & well maintained. Great location, 3 min. walk from the bus station. Advise any traveler to bring ear plugs as some snore, & would absolutely stay here again.

Ben and Jarrod where fantastic hosts not to mention their better halves as well. Couldn’t have asked more out of a hostel. Make sure you get involved in as many excursions that Ben and Jarrod have to offer as they will not disappoint. Thanks for a great weekend.
